(‘Gerontion’ means ‘little old man’, and should be pronounced with a hard ‘G’. It’s the title of a T.S. Eliot poem.)
I myself am a decrepitating if not little man, so this seemed a good title for the reflections of an old guy on his experience of aging.
As I vaguely remember, someone famous (perhaps Stendahl?) observed that, while getting old isn’t nice, it is interesting.
For the record, such vagueness of memory is itself certainly neither nice nor convenient (unless for the sake of convenience one merely pretends not to recall, like Corey Lewandowski and other members of the Trump crime family). But it’s interesting.
